Harbour Isles worth a look

Even though it's a buyer's market, first-time home buyers' choices often are limited. Harbour Isles, in Apollo Beach, is not only affordable for first-time buyers, but it's in a great location and has an abundance of amenities, says Cara Kane, regional public relations director with KB Home. "The homes in Harbour Isles are priced from $129,990, which is obviously a great price for first-time home buyers," Kane says. "The community allows the first-time home buyer to get into a single-family home community with wonderful floor plans and tremendous amenities at a great value." With palm tree-lined roads and lush landscaping, Harbour Isles boasts easy access to shopping, schools and Interstate 75. The South Shore area of Hillsborough County also is well-known for its beaches, nature preserves and fishing and boating. "The notable thing about this community is that it has phenomenal amenities," Kane says. "It has a whole plethora of amenities for families who are looking to have recreational opportunities within their community."
Among the amenities are the clubhouse, which has a fitness center, activity hall and fully-equipped kitchen, resort-style and children's pools, basketball and volleyball courts, a fishing dock, boat storage, a covered pavilion, picnic areas and walking trails. KB Home recently introduced five new floor plans in Harbour Isles, providing 1,826 to 2,468 square feet of living space, up to five bedrooms and garages. "We recently did a consumer survey and designed the new floor plans based on survey results of what buyers in the market wanted, such as master suites on the first floor and flex spaces, such as the upstairs loft, which can be used as a loft or turned into an additional bedroom. The new floor plans are very open, which allows for a lot of flexibility," Kane explains. "The kitchen overlooks the main open family room, so that if someone is in the kitchen, they can interact with those in the family room," Kane adds. "Many of the kitchens have eat-in areas." KB Home also offers a built-to-order model, Kane says. "With the built-to-order model, buyers are paying for nothing they don't want."
Harbour Isles touts a variety of eco-friendly options as well. "Both of the model homes in Harbour Isles contain every environmentally-friendly option that we offer, including radiant roof barriers, programmable thermostat, low-e windows and Energy Star appliances," Kane says. "They can save a tremendous amount on energy bills." Kane adds that every KB Home in Harbour Isles comes with Energy Star-qualified appliances, including the refrigerator, washer and dryer and dishwasher. To visit Harbour Isles, take I-75 to the Big Bend Road exit. Go west to U.S. 41 and make a left; the community is 3½ miles ahead on the left. Models are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. "Harbour Isles is a great place to live, and KB Home's affordable prices make it easy for anyone to buy a new home in a wonderful community," Kane says.
