Another chilly morning gives way to a sunny, comfortable afternoon in the Tampa Bay area today.
And the warm-up continues through the weekend, notes News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann.
Bay area residents faced temperatues in the high 40s and low 50s, but highs later in the will reach the mid-70s. Skies will remain sunny and the humidity low, Spann says.
“This will be the coolest day we’ll see for the next seven days,” she says.
Lows tonight dip back into the 40s, but the high on Thursday nears 80, again with clear skies.
Friday through Sunday, the region will see lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Cloudiness and rain chances increase by the weekend.
Saturday is the first day of winter.
