One of the Internet’s most coveted desserts is making its way to Tampa. The doughnut ice cream cone, which became Instagram’s most craved craze in late February, could only be obtained at Good Food Coffee and Bakery in Prague.
Datz Dough on South MacDill Avenue announced this week they’ll be trying their hand at their own version of the sweet sensation on March 24 at noon.
“We’ve decided to do a food challenge at Dough and we want local foodies to tell us how we did,” Dough spokesperson Gina Moccio said. Dough will be serving up a limited amount of Doughnut Ice Cream Cones with Nutella for $10, with the option to add complimentary toppings.
The Good Food Coffee doughnut cone that originally went viral (pictured above) is a cinnamon and sugar variety with soft serve ice cream swirling from within, while a chocolate, strawberry or Nutella barrier keeps the cone from getting soggy. The dessert is a twist on the traditional Hungarian trdelníks, dough wrapped around a cylinder and grilled.
