WFTS meteorologist to appear on 'Good Morning America'

TAMPA - ABC Action News meteorologist Stephanie Roberts, of WFTS, Channel 28, will be a guest weather forecaster on the weekend edition of "Good Morning America." She is scheduled to be on "GMA" on Saturday at 8 a.m. and Sunday at 7 a.m. "I get to talk about snow again," says Roberts, who has worked in Chicago and Cleveland. It will be snowing in parts of the country on the weekend. She predicts cold and dry weather for New York so she's packing gloves, sweaters and jackets. Roberts says she applied to be "GMA" for the experience. "I had to submit samples of my work and eventually they called back," she says.
The network is paying her travel expenses and she plans to take in the city between the newscasts. Roberts joined WFTS in 2008 after working as a freelance meteorologist at several Tampa area TV stations. She moved to Tampa with her family in 2006. The Chicago native is a Penn State University graduate who has worked in television for 10 years. Prior to coming to Tampa, she worked in Chicago, Rochester, Minn., Toledo, Ohio, and Cleveland, Ohio. Roberts forecasts the weather Monday through Friday for the morning and noon shows on WFTS.
