Tampa’s Monica Culpepper came up short, losing the final vote of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” to Tyson Apostol.
Apostol picked up seven votes from the jury at the final tribal council, to Culpepper’s one and Gervase Peterson’s zero.
The 39-day CBS reality series was taped in the Phillipines, but the final vote was revealed Sunday night by host Jeff Probst during a live cast reunion show.
Apostol won the show’s $1 million prize in his third appearance on “Survivor.” He was previously on “Survivor: Tocantins” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.”
Culpepper was making her second appearance on “Survivor,” but was participating with her husband, Brad, as the show came up with the idea of having loved ones compete against each other. Brad Culpepper was previously eliminated.
The Culpeppers were among 20 castaways who began the show’s 27th season.
