Lowry Park Zoo announces details for WaZoo Beer Fest
The Lowry Park Zoo announced details for its upcoming Wazoo Beer Fest, set for Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. The after-hours fest, once recognized by USA Today as one of the country's "10 great beer festivals," will feature more than 275 beers from 70 domestic and international breweries. A beer that was custom-brewed for WaZoo will also debut at the event - a first for the festival, which is entering its 18th year. General admission tickets start at $60 and include beer and food samples from local restaurants including BJ's Brewhouse, Kona Grill, James Joyce Irish Pub, Taco Fusion and others. Designated driver tickets are $25.Rock, hip-hop and blues band One Mile Final will headline a live music lineup that includes Cutty Jones, Impulse, Kim Harpo and The Hawks. Tickets are available from LowryParkZoo.com or by phone at (813) 935-8552. VIP tickets, which include early admission, access to an air conditioned lounge and animal encounters, are $100, or $50 for designated drivers. The Zoo will close at 3 p.m. on Aug. 4 to set up for the event. Proceeds from the event help the animal care and education programs at the zoo.
