If you simply can’t wait until Monday to begin celebrating Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, The Florida Aquarium has you covered.
Shark Week at the aquarium kicks off Saturday, with a weekend of special events centered around the ocean predators.
On Saturday, there’s “Breakfast With the Sharks,” which includes a meal outside the coral reef exhibit, followed by a shark-themed tour ($24.95 kids, $29.95 adults).
There’s also appearances throughout the day by The Florida Aquarium Mermaids (Saturday and Sunday), interactive shark games and learning activities (Saturday and Sunday) and a talk by shark expert Dan Huber (Saturday, 10:30 a.m.).
Shark-themed scavenger hunts and daily shark-themed dive shows will continue daily through Aug. 16.
Children receive $5 off regular admission through Aug. 16 as part of Shark Week, and the aquarium’s Dive with the Sharks experience is 15 percent off.
