Feel-good pop rockers Hot Chelle Rae will kick off a newly-announced summer concert series June 28 at Busch Gardens in Tampa.
The trio of brothers Ryan Follese (vocals and guitar) and Jamie Follese (drums), plus Nash Overstreet on lead guitar, will take the Gwazi Stage at 8:30 p.m. with a fireworks show directly following the concert.
Barbecue and craft beer vendors and strolling entertainment will line the Gwazi Park field, creating a festival atmosphere to accompany the Summer Nights concerts, which will run Saturdays from June 28 to Aug. 17, the theme park said.
The park plans to announce more pop, R&B, alternative and Latin artists for the Summer Nights concerts soon, a news release said.
In addition to the headlining concerts, Summer Nights will include extended park hours until 9 p.m., DJs and other special entertainment.
Summer Nights concerts will take the place of the park’s Kinetix event, which happens all other nights during the summer.
The Summer Nights concerts are included with regular paid admission to the park.
Hot Chelle Rae is best known for the songs “Don’t Say Goodnight,” “I Like it Like That” and top-10 hit “Tonight, Tonight”.
