Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” is originating from Orlando’s Universal Studios this week.
Fallon and company will tape editions to air this Monday through Thursday.
Fallon and sidekick Steve Higgins tapped into their inner “Miami Vice” to start things off. Donning a white suit and wig, Fallon channeled “Sonny” Crockett and Higgins portrayed “Rico” Tubbs, from the popular NBC drama that aired in the 1980s.
Guests on Monday include Jennifer Lopez and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Jimmy Buffett and Kevin Hart are scheduled for Tuesday. Rosario Dawson joins Fallon on Wednesday, with George Lopez dropping by on Thursday.
This trip is the first week of remote tapings since Fallon took over the “Tonight Show” mantle from Jay Leno in February. With Fallon’s ascension to the host job, “Tonight” reclaimed New York as its home after decades based in Los Angeles.
“The Tonight Show” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m.
The “Tonight Show” visit is timed to celebrate Universal Resort’s newest themed experience, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley.
The “Today” show also will be visiting Orlando on Wednesday, when the show’s third hour will provide a sneak peek of the Potter attraction and three stars of the movie series, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Felton and Robbie Coltrane will join “Today” personalities Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist and Tamron Hall.
