5 Seconds of Summer tour coming to Tampa

There were two giant announcements in the world of Australian pop band 5 Seconds of Summer today.

First, their self-titled debut album has officially hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in its first week of release, selling 259,000 copies and making it the hottest-selling debut for anyone since 2006.

Second, they’re going out on a well-timed, first North American headlining tour, and it’s coming to Tampa.

The “Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour” will stop at the MidFlorida Amphitheatre on Sept. 12, 2015. The only other Florida date on the tour is Sept. 13, 2015 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach.

Tickets, which range from $19 to $69.50 before fees, go on sale Aug. 9 through livenation.com and Ticketmaster outlets.

If you simply can’t wait until next year to see the “She Looks So Perfect” singers perform live, they’ll also be opening for One Direction at Raymond James Stadium Oct. 3 as part of the “Where We Are World Tour.”

Tickets for that concert are currently on sale through Ticketmaster for $19.50 to $99.50.
