The new World of Beer opening across the street from the University of South Florida will open its doors and its taps for a grand opening celebration on Sept. 28 at noon.
The new location of the locally-founded chain of beer bars will be the company’s “flagship” location, according to the announcement on its Facebook page, and will feature a new World of Beer logo and interior design. The new building, which includes a large outdoor patio, has been under construction at 2815 E. Fowler Avenue for several months.
WOB Fowler will also feature the chain’s new tavern fare menu, which includes tacos, chicken wings, meatballs and Guinness brat sliders, as well as wine and cocktails in addition to its huge beer selection. The chain, which originally served only beer and very basic snacks at some locations, has been rolling out new food and cocktail options in some stores.
The grand opening celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m., a firkin tapping of a Cigar City beer created specifically for World of Beer and live music beginning at 9 p.m.
Regular hours for WOB Fowler will be noon to midnight on Monday and Tuesday, noon to 1 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Sundays.
The Fowler store is the first World of Beer location to open in the area since the popular World of Beer in Tampa Palms closed in 2013.
