Smoothin & Shaken joins food truck fiesta today in Tampa
Hungry workers in downtown Tampa may need to weather the threat of rain to get out to today’s Food Truck Fiesta, which will welcome a new one: Smoothin & Shaken. The smoothie bus will offer protein and nonprotein shakes in several flavors. Versions offered in the past included Banana Man, Mango Lemonade and Mudslide, a mix of chocolate, peanut butter and banana. They also sell milkshakes such as Oreo Glory and Strawberry Shortcake. Other trucks at today’s event include: American Weiner, Burger Culture, Maggie on the Move, Michelle Faedo’s, Hogfather, Oki Doki and Killer Samich.Today’s food truck gathering is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lykes Gaslight Square Park on Franklin Street, between Madison Street and Kennedy Boulevard. HART will have a new MetroRapid North-South bus on hand for tours, and the agency will have information on the new service. The route will take riders on a 17-mile run from downtown Tampa to Telecom Park, a mile west of Interstate 75 on Fletcher Avenue, and use traffic signal-changing technology to cut its time by 10 to 15 percent.
