Chestnut gobbles 144 wings to win Hooters championship
Joey Chestnut, who won his sixth straight hot-dog eating crown on July Fourth in New York, continued his winning ways at the World Wing Eating Championships at Hooters in Clearwater on Thursday night. Chestnut of San Jose, Calif., who is nicknamed "Jaws," ate 144 wings in 10 minutes for the win. Runner-up Adrian "The Rabbit" Morgan from Baton Rouge, La., ate 140. Chestnut earned $7,500 for the win. Third-place went to Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, Alexandria, Va., who ate 131 wings.
