Damage estimated at $1.2 million in Plant City TECO fire
PLANT CITY Officials are estimating $1.2 million in damage from a Monday fire at a Tampa Electric Co. operations facility. No one was injured but there was damage to TECO vehicles and property, a report by Plant City Fire Rescue said. The fire broke out about 5:15 p.m. in a truck at the TECO garage at 1308 W. Grant St. Firefighters who arrived at the facility off Alexander Street found heavy flames and smoke coming from three trucks and two forklifts under an awning, a report said.
