Chantal expected to bring more rain to state
A series of late storms has calmed down to a partly cloudy night over the Tampa Bay area, and temperatures are heading to the mid-70s overnight. A few isolated storms may develop Thursday morning along the coast, said WFLA-TV meteorologist Julie Phillips. Look for scattered showers and storms to develop along the sea breeze though by the afternoon and evening hours. What's left of Tropical Storm Chantal is expected to approach Florida on Friday, but the expected impact on the state will be higher rain chances, Phillips said.
