Middleton High robotics team earns international acclaim

Tribune staffMiddleton Magnet High School’s robotics team – Maelstrom – captured second place at the 2013 FTC World Championship, held April 24-27 at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Mo.
The team competed in the Edison Division against 64 robotics teams from throughout the world including Russia, China, Romania, India, South Korea and New Zealand.
Another 64 teams competed in the Franklin Division. Winners in those two divisions went head-to-head in the final matches.
Middleton’s team came up 21 points short of the winning Franklin Division team.
Now it's Pinellas County's turn to wrestle with $14 million extra for St. Petersburg's Pier District
