Former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco to speak at garden center

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS — The new Seminole Heights Public Branch Library is moving toward its 2014 debut.

People can get an update on construction progress at 7 p.m. Monday at the Seminole Heights Garden Center, 5800 N. Central Ave. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Seminole Heights Library.

The speaker will be former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco, who will share memories of growing up in Seminole Heights.

The former 8,000-square-foot building, at 4711 N. Central Ave., was torn down in November. The new library will be a two-story, 22,000-square-foot building on the same site.

On display at the meeting will be samples of the stained glass that will be used in artwork being created for the library; and images of furniture and interior colors chosen for the facility.

Light refreshments will be served.
