Sheriff's officials, Carrollwood bar owner to meet after shooting
TAMPA - Commanders with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office plan to meet with owners of Whiskey Park North to discuss ways to curb violence at the Carrollwood bar. The sheriff's office announced its intentions a day after the second shooting since July at the bar, at 11921 N. Dale Mabry Highway. At 3 a.m. Sunday, a man began shooting at a group in the parking lot as the bar was closing and about 200 patrons were leaving, deputies said. Yakim Williams, 27, and Sheldon Lillie, 31, of Tampa, were taken to a hospital for treatment. Williams was released, but Lillie, shot in the shoulder, was admitted, deputies said.Detectives said they are still talking to witness and victims, and following up on leads generated by the two surveillance video images. As many as 20 casings were found by investigators. It was unclear if there was more than one shooter, the sheriff's office said. "The managers of the bar have been very cooperative in this investigation," sheriff's office spokeswoman Samara Sodos said. In July, a 23-year-old man was killed in the parking lot and another man wounded. That shooting also occurred as the bar was closing. Deputies said that Pablo Bonilla saw his girlfriend talking to a man in the bar and that led to a confrontation, which ended in gunfire outside. Less than a week later, Kenny Silva, 33, was arrested in New Jersey and charged with the homicide.
