Projects aim to improve Lake Carroll
CARROLLWOOD - A public meeting today will address proposed improvements to the Lake Carroll stormwater system. The two projects intended to improve the lake's water quality and quantity will cost $140,000, according to Hillsborough County government, which scheduled the 6:30 p.m. meeting in the cafeteria at Lake Magdalene Elementary School, 2002 Pine Lake Drive. The work scheduled for late this year is to improve water quality and quantity by expanding the Fore Drive pond and excavating the Carroll Grove pond to remove sediment build-up. Also, aquatic plantings will be added to reduce nutrients in the water. County staffers at the meeting will detail the project and answer residents' questions. For information, call (813) 272-5275.
