CARROLLWOOD - EVOS, a health-conscious fast-food restaurant founded in 1999, opened a Carrollwood location this week.
The Tampa-based company this spring announced its newest location would be at 10205 Lake Carroll Way. Wednesday's ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by the restaurant's 11 a.m. opening.
"We're extremely proud to bring the residents and business of Carrollwood a healthier and natural dining option that's casual and leaves you feeling great," EVOS cofounder Michael Jeffers said in a prepared statement. "With American favorites such as our shakes and salads made with fresh certified local organic ingredients, and burgers of hormone-free, grass-fed beef, our customers experience wonderful flavor and feel great, too."
Known for its Original Airfries, EVOS uses a technique to seal in flavor without the extra grease of deep-frying, according to the company, resulting is a 60 percent reduction in calories and fat without sacrificing taste.
The menu include salads, gourmet wraps, baked chicken strips and a wild Atlantic salmon burger, plus organic milkshakes and fruit shakes.
Jeffers said the restaurant's design embraces elements of nature and, as much as possible, features eco-friendly and sustainable materials such as recycled wood panels and other natural materials. The company continues to offset energy use by utilizing renewable wind energy.
"Careful attention has been given to the selection of sustainable materials for all exterior finishes, in addition to sourcing and selecting "made in America" products such as furniture, fixtures, materials and equipment,'' Jeffers said.
