Village Players looking for the next Hawkeye Pierce
VALRICO The Village Players community theater troupe is recruiting 15 men and 15 women to join the ranks of their next production, "M.A.S.H." This will be an all-volunteer, comedic re-creation of the fictitious, Korean War-era mobile army surgical hospital made famous by the movie and television series of the same name. The production will include some improvisation, said Gail Pierce, Village Players' former president and a founding member. Auditions, consisting of cold readings, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21, Tuesday, July 23, and Thursday, July 25, at the James McCabe Theater, 506 5th St.The show will run three weekends in October. Set builders as well as lighting and sound technicians also are needed to run the "M.A.S.H." unit. To enlist, sign up at auditions or leave a message on the Village Players' hotline, (813) 643-8292.
