VALRICO – The Valrico Players’ spring show will be Leslie Bricusse’s and Steve Cuden’s gothic thriller, “Jekyll and Hyde: the Musical,” at the James McCabe Theater, 506 Fifth St.
The curtain will rise at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25, 26, May 2, 3, 9 and 10 and at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27 and May 4.
The show, a reprise for director Carlton Jones, was the first show he performed in and was costumer for in Florida.
“Once again I embark on the theatrical journey of bringing to life this great musical production, a haunting, romantic, thrilling production,” Jones said. “‘Jekyll and Hyde: the Musical’ retells the age-old story of Dr. Jekyll’s chilling tale.”
Jones said he “was fortunate to have been able to bring together a skilled staff to aid in the direction of the show. The cast and crew consist of a talented mixture of veteran performers and new members to our community theater family.”
Performers include Oliver Sprague, Todd Siverling, Anita Travaglino, Melissa Doell, Chris Dunlap, Darryl Parish, Logan Simmons, Robert L’Ecuyer Jr., Paula Spangler-Klein, Corey Wade, Chelsea Scourtes, Denise Mesina, Emily Braff, Kay Brown, Jade Rivera, Mikaela DuPriest, Autumn Allard, Todd Barber, David Saoinero and Chelsea Orvis.
The production crew comprises assistant director Josie Costa, Vinnie Natale, special effects; Keith Holmes, stage manager; Gail Pierce, producer/characterization; Corey Wade, set design; Debie Lastinger and Kyra Lastinger, costumes; Pedro Amaral, choreographer; Erik Hann, sound; Lisa Rupe, vocal direction; and Domin Pazo, board liaison.
Tickets are $15 general admission, $13 per student, senior or military with ID and $12 per member of a group of 12 or more. At the door, only cash and checks are accepted.
