U.S. 41 closed at Causeway Boulevard for railroad repair
U.S. 41 is closed in both directions today at Causeway Boulevard as CSX makes emergency repairs to a busted track south of that intersection, according to Kris Carson, Florida Department of Transportation spokesperson. The road is expected to be closed for six to seven hours, Carson said. U.S. 41 was closed about 10:30 a.m. Traffic on U.S. 41 south is being detoured east along Causeway to U.S. 301, then south to Progress Boulevard/Madison Avenue, and then westbound to get back to U.S. 41, the DOT said. Vehicles northbound on U.S. 41 will be detoured east on Madison Avenue/Progress Boulevard to U.S. 301, north to Causeway and then west to return to U.S. 41.
