Seffner man charged in death of homeless man in July
A Seffner man was arrested at home Friday in the death of a homeless man in July, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. David Choppa, 46, of 1151 Oakhill St., faces charges of second-degree murder, tampering with evidence and theft. About 5:18 p.m. July 1, detectives found Stevie Means, 60, who was homeless, dead in a field with a crack pipe in his mouth, according to the sheriff's office. The next day, the medical examiner determined the cause of death was upper body trauma, the sheriff's office said.Choppa is being held without bond.
