Pollo Tropical opens in Brandon with a beach party
BRANDON Pollo Tropical is opening in Brandon Friday with a beach party and a drawing for a year's worth of free food. The restaurant chain, with locations throughout Florida, Georgia and Tennessee, is opening here at 828 Providence Road in the Town Center Shops. Doors will open at 10:30, but the first 100 people in line, beginning at 8 a.m. will be entered in a drawing for a year's worth of free Mojo roast pork, grilled chicken, sides and homemade salsas. A name will be chosen in a random drawing at 11 a.m. and that person must be present to win. The first 100 guests will also receive a Create Your Own Family Meal coupon valid for a future visit. The restaurant has a full day of activities planned for the opening, as well. In addition to the food give-away, there will be a 12-hour beach party featuring surfing simulators, music, and prize giveaways.Live music and special appearances by local radio personalities begin at 9 a.m., doors open at 10:30 a.m. and DJ Frankie spins live as the drawing takes place. A media surfing challenge takes place at 2 p.m. and afternoon surfing practice begins at 4 p.m. with a contest at 5 p.m. Then at 8 p.m., Pollo Tropical will host a Night-time Neon Surfing Contest with glow sticks and neon.
