Hawthorne Village of Brandon, a retirement community, partnered with Preservation 1st Financial Group to host “Cutting up after Taxes” a paper-shredding event, with proceeds going to the Campo YMCA and Camp Christina’s Drowning Prevention Programs. The Y is committed to drowning prevention by providing swimming and water-safety lessons to children and their families, such as the Infant Swimming Resources program where they teach infants as young as 6 months old how to survive should they fall into a body of water.
“We are privileged to support such a great organization like the Y,” said Vern Zegar, executive director of Hawthorne. “Here at Hawthorne Village we are proud to support local business and their programs. Besides being in the community we strive to be a part of it.”
Preservation 1st Financial Group’s Christian Beiter is on the board of the YMCA’s Camp Christina.
Shredding was provided by Legal Shred of Ruskin.
