HCC offers summer camps at campus in Ruskin
RIVERVIEW Hillsborough Community College campuses will offer entertaining, educational camps for children and teens this summer. Hillsborough Community College’s Institute for Corporate and Continuing Education will host one-week Kids’ College Camps for students ages seven to 12 at the Regent campus in Riverview, Plant City campus, Collaboration Studio in Ybor City and, for the first time, the South Shore campus in Ruskin. The camp day will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday June 10 to Aug. 16. Tuition is $120 per student per week and includes extended hours. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. Camp topics include music, acting and singing, healthcare, culinary and wellness, chess, paleontology, computers, mystery monsters of Florida, games and apps, fashion design, S.T.E.M., photography and art. Week-long LEGO Mindstorms Robotics introductory, intermediate and engineering camps for middle-school and high-school teens will take place at the Hillsborough Community College Brandon campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17 to Aug. 2. These are coordinated by the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center, the Bay Area Manufacturers Association and Hillsborough Community College. Each week-long session costs $150 per student.
