HCC Brandon students share on International Day
BRANDON - Colorful costumes, folk dances and ethnic food spotlighted the diversity of students, faculty and guests April 9 at Hillsborough Community College’s Brandon campus. Students displayed cultural icons representing their national heritage and birthplaces. They ate, played and danced together, and drew henna tattoos on each other. Matt Machmuller won the Writing Center’s contest and read aloud his story, “Buddha and the Lotus Blossoms.” International Day 2013 was sponsored by Bilingual Services of HCC Brandon Academic Success Center. Events were coordinated by Ixa Blanco-Maldonado, bilingual services manager.
