A man has been arrested after jumping from bushes and grabbing the arm of a woman jogger this morning in Brandon, then fleeing when the woman screamed, Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies said.
Frank Emmanuel Zuniga, 27, of Valrico is facing charges of false imprisonment and battery.
The victim, an 18-year-old Valrico woman, was running with a friend at Nature’s Way Boulevard and Elton Place about 10:32 a.m. when a man appeared and grabbed her arm, according to deputies.
The woman screamed, and the man released her and ran a short distance on foot, then fled in a white pickup with a Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo in the rear window, deputies said.
Deputies were able to identify Zuniga as a suspect, and arrested him about 3:30 p.m.
Zuniga may be a suspect in a second incident that occurred May 11, where a female was also jogging on Nature's Way and a man grabbed her buttocks over her shorts, deputies said.
Deputies ask anyone else who has had an encounter with Zuniga to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.
