Christian singers to perform at Nativity Church in Brandon
BRANDON - Melissa Brethauer and Jeremy Hearn will appear in concert in the intimate Agape Café in the Msgr. James Lara Youth Center at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E. Brandon Blvd. "This concert will be packed with praise and worship and original songs that will draw listeners to Christ," said Justin Lantz, the church's youth director. "The audience can get up-close and personal with the artists and enjoy a real, at-home, living-room feel." Brethauer is a 23-year-old, Atlanta-based singer, songwriter, guitarist and classically trained pianist whose debut album, "Waiting," was recorded at the Brandon-area Crystal Blue Sound Studios and came out in 2009 at a CD release party at Music Showcase. The title song hit the top 50 of Music Tampa Bay's top 100 songs that year. Brethauer graduated from Riverview High School and has performed at Brandon Idol (now called the Momentum Festival), St. Stephen Catholic School's Spring Jubilee, Nativity Catholic School's Novemberfest, in Las Vegas and across the southeast United States.Singer and guitar player Hearn leads worship at First United Methodist Church in Port Orange He is a producer and recording artist who studied and interned in Nashville. He got his start in music ministry at age 16 as a co-leader of worship at First United Methodist St. Petersburg. The inspirational music will begin at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10, (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) at Nativity Catholic Church and will surely move listeners, said Lantz. Admission is $5 at the door. Advance tickets are $3 at Ave Maria Catholic Gifts, 222 Bryan Road. On or after July 22, tickets may be purchased at the Nativity Catholic Church office.
