Brandon guitarist Wesley keep connection with fans

BRANDON – Guitarist John Wesley “Wes” Dearth III of Brandon, known to his fans around the world as John Wesley, released his newest CD, “Disconnect,” March 31 in Europe and April 1 in the United States through InsideOut Music.

“Disconnect” balances a “palette of colors and sounds … so that the journey the listener takes on the album is interesting and pushing some boundaries but in a focused and cohesive manner,” he said.

It includes progressive rock, pop rock, ballad and acoustic, which Wesley has absorbed from his multifaceted career as local acoustic guitar player and singer Wes Dearth and as world-traipsing, prog-rock guitarist John Wesley.

He has toured with several renowned bands, including Porcupine Tree, Fish and Simon Collins’s band, Sound of Contact.

Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree and Alex Lifeson of Rush play on “Disconnect.” Wesley wrote all the lyrics and melodies and collaborated with Dean Tidey on the arrangements. Grammy Award-winning recording engineer Steven Orchard mixed it.

Wesley hopes “that people enjoy the music. After all these years of creating music, creating those connections are most important to me.”

Most of Wesley’s music is downloadable for free at his website. For a preview of the song “Mary Will” from “Disconnect,” visit the website of The Prog Report.
