Brandon chamber prepares for 25th taste expo
People who attend the annual Taste of Brandon can expect to be “wowed” as they sample everything from seafood and barbeque to pizza, pasta and sweets, said Tammy Bracewell, president of the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce. “The entire event is awesome, but I especially enjoy seeing local businesses showing their wares and meeting future customers,” she said. “It is very rewarding to know that the chamber is helping them to build their businesses. “Like everyone else, I also enjoy the tastes, and it’s always exciting to see which businesses will win Best Taste and Best Dessert honors. These companies go all out to wow attendees, as they should, since voting is done solely by (them).” The 25th annual Brandon Business Expo and Taste of Brandon will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. May 16 at the Special Events Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds at U.S. Hwy. 301 and Interstate 4.It’s the expo’s 25th anniversary. “The Brandon Business Expo & Taste of Brandon was started to showcase Brandon area businesses and has grown throughout its 25-year history with the addition of the Best Taste and Best Dessert awards, as well as the door prizes and giveaways for attendees,” Bracewell said. “The event has been successful because it provides an affordable vehicle for exposure for the businesses and also provides a wonderful experience for the attendees.” She said some of food establishments participating this year include Gold Elite chamber member GrillSmith Restaurants and Bronze Elite chamber members Bahama Breeze Island Grille, Cheddar's Casual Cafe, Sheraton Tampa East Plaza Hotel and Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill. “The $10 advanced ticket – $15 at the door – includes a beverage and all of the tastes,” she said. “Unlike some other similar events, there are no additional charges for the tastes at the Brandon Chamber’s event, which makes it an even greater value.” With a trade show setting, the event will include more than 200 exhibitors showcasing their businesses. Business industries of all types are welcomed and encouraged to exhibit. “It is the perfect time to bring the entire family out to experience the 25th Anniversary of The Brandon Business Expo & Taste of Brandon,” she said. “Fortunately, the event is held inside the Florida State Fairgrounds' Special Events Center so weather is not an issue.” Exhibitor space is still available. Product sales are permitted. Chamber member booth fees are $225; prospective member space is available for $325.
