Brandon apartment evacuated after kitchen fire
No one was injured Sunday afternoon during a Brandon apartment fire, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. Firefighters responded to a unit at Palisades Apartments, 517 Camino Real, about 4:40 p.m. and found a kitchen on fire. The unit was empty as tenants had been evacuated prior to fire rescueís arrival. The fire, which has been categorized as accidental, was contained and did not spread to any other units, according to fire rescue. Nearby units did suffer some smoke damage. No one from the apartment complex or Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was injured and those displaced were offered housing in the same complex.
