A Bradenton man is in critical condition following a three-car wreck Sunday in Manatee County caused by a soft drink bottle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 3:18 p.m., Brandy Nicole Fransworth, 34, of Bradenton, was traveling south on 9th Street East in a 2001 Lincoln Navigator and approaching 33rd Avenue East. Fransworth told troopers a soft drink bottle fell to the floor of the SUV and became lodged under her brake pedal.
A 2006 Kia Sedona, driven by Ethel Louise Ream, 76, of Sarasota, and a 2006 Honda motorcycle, driven by 28-year-old Dustin Dennis Crum, of Bradenton, were in the southbound lane on 9th St. East, but stopped at the intersection.
The Navigator was unable to stop, colliding into the motorcycle, which threw Crum from the bike. The SUV then struck the back of the Sedona, according to troopers.
Crum was taken to Blake Medical Center and is in critical condition, troopers said.
Fransworth and Ream were uninjured in the wreck.
