Actor Shahid Kapoor, a co-host for Saturday’s ceremony, landed Monday afternoon out of Newark, followed in a later flight by actor-producer Vivek Anard Oberoi.
Like all international celebrities arriving this week, they were escorted directly from his flight to the airport’s green-carpet welcome tent on the ninth floor of the short-term parking garage.
The four-day event begins Wednesday and culminates with the internatinoally televised awards ceremony Saturday at Raymond James Stadium. About 30,000 visitors are expected, including scores of celebrities.
Bollywood stars will be arriving at the airport throughout the week, mostly in the afternoons and evenings, and IIFA organizers will let the public know on Twitter (@IIFA).
