Let's be honest: Imagine Dragons are probably the most successful rock band of this decade.
They're not the only group to debut in the 2010s who can also headline arenas, but they're definitely the only one to have such enormous crossover success on a multitude of charts, from early singles Radioactive and It's Time to their most recent smashes Thunder and Believer.
Tampa's gotten a good look at Imagine Dragons every step of the way, so it's no surprise they're coming here on their new summer tour. Imagine Dragons will play the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Aug. 10. The tour comes in support of their latest album Evolve, and brand-new single Next To Me, released Wednesday.
Opening the show is an unusual but interesting choice: Grace VanderWaal, the 14-year-old singer-songwriter and ukulele prodigy who rose to fame on America's Got Talent and who will be making her Tampa debut.
Tickets to the show start at $35 and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 3. Click here for details.
And to help you get ready, here's a flashback to our 2012 profile of Imagine Dragons, in which we hung out with them for a day of radio promo before a concert at the Ritz Ybor, where they were the opening act (!) for Awolnation. Time flies!
