DEVELOPING: After feeling good about themselves in winning consecutive series on the road against the Red Sox and Indians, the Rays have a chance to prove their self-confidence in a three-game series that starts tonight against the first-place Yankees.
The Rays will have RHP Erasmo Ramirez on the mound, as he steps into the rotation in place of demoted LHP Blake Snell.
And the Rays will have a new face at 2B, as rookie Daniel Robertson moves into the lineup in place if injured Brad Miller, who went on the 10-day DL on Thursday with a lower abdominal strain.
The Yankees are starting RHP Luis Severino, who strikes out a lot of hitters, and the Rays do lead the majors in whiffs.
