DEVELOPING: The Rays are set to take on the Red Sox again tonight with a bit of a student-mentor framing as Chris Archer takes on former Tampa Bay ace David Price.
The Rays announced they are putting RHP Jake Faria on the 10-day DL due to the oblique strain he sustained Tuesday and are calling up LHP Vidal Nuno, though they first have to make room on the 40-man roster.
C Wilson Ramos, who left Tuesday's game with a bruised left hand, is not in the lineup. Top prospect SS Willy Adames, on a cameo callup, is for the second day.
This will be the third time Archer and Price, who was traded to Detroit in July 2014, match up. Price won the first meeting in 2015 when he was with Toronto, and neither factored in the decision last July.
