The Rays announced several promotions to complete their home clubhouse and athletic training staffs:
Ryan Denlinger was promoted from assistant to home clubhouse manager, replacing Jose Fernandez, who left during last season. Denlinger has been with the Rays organization for 12 years, and working on the clubhouse staff since 2007.
Tyler Wall, who had been on the clubhouse staff (and attending to the umpires) for the last eight years, was named home equipment manager. Ryan Riddle, who was on the clubhouse staff for the last 10 years, was named assistant home clubhouse manager.
Mike Sandoval was promoted after six seasons at Triple-A Durham to join the major-league training staff. He has previous big-league experience with the Pirates from 2001-11.
The training staff was shuffled following the departure of longtime top man Ron Porterfield, with Joe Benge promoted to head athletic trainer, Mark Vinson name his top assistant and former assistant Paul Harker taking a new medical coordinator post.
