Details have been announced for Tuesday's celebration of life service for Roy Halladay, the former Blue Jays and Phillies ace and Odessa resident who died last week when the plane he was piloting crashed into the the Gulf of Mexico off the Pasco County coast.
The service will begin at 4 p.m. at Spectrum Field, the Phillies spring training stadium located at 601 Old Coachman Rd, Clearwater.
Gates will open at 3 p.m. with seating on a first come basis with a capacity of 8,000. Parking will be free in lots adjacent to the stadium.

Per the family, the foundation "supports organizations that are tied to two causes that are most meaningful to the Halladay family – youth sports programs and animal welfare. Beneficiaries of foundation funding will include, but not limited to, organizations that provide the opportunity for young athletes to develop to their highest potential, with particular emphasis on sportsmanship and building greater self-esteem. Additionally, organizations that help to improve the quality of life for animals through rescue, adoption and humane treatment will be eligible to receive funding.
