Actor Miles Teller denies reports of arrest

Actor Miles Teller, 30 and a Lecanto High grad, has taken to Twitter to deny reports that he was arrested over the weekend.

"Went down to SD to see my buddy before he deployed. I wasn't arrested I was detained bc there was no evidence to charge me with a crime," the Fantastic Four actor tweeted. "Don't believe everything you read, especially from a third party entertainment news source trying to get clicks. Appreciate the concern."

But Teller's take on the evening doesn't match what officers have reported.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the War Dogs star was arrested in San Diego early Sunday morning on charges of public intoxication.

Teller was allegedly slurring his speech and swaying side to side when an officer approached him. He was then taken to a detox center to sober up, but he was "uncooperative with the volunteer staff there and was rejected," Officer Bill Hernandez told the Los Angeles Times.

He was then arrested on a charge of public intoxication, which is a misdemeanor, and was released four hours later.

"Our records show he was arrested and booked in county jail for being drunk in public," Hernandez said in another interview with USA Today after being told Teller tweeted that there was no arrest.
