Gradebook podcast: Should Florida lawmakers have unrestricted access to public schools?

A year after granting school board members unfettered access to their district schools, the Florida Legislature is considering giving its own members the same permission.

Sen. Dorothy Hukill, the bill sponsor, suggested the proposal is a way to demonstrate that lawmakers are in touch with public education and determined to help it. Gadfly Brian Pitts, who often says things that others won't, begged to differ.

Sen. Hukill was not amused.
