Chris Godwin will never forget the first touchdown reception of his NFL career.
The Bucs rookie receiver caught a game-winning 39-yard touchdown pass from Jameis Winston with nine seconds left in the Bucs' 31-24 win over the Saints Sunday.
Godwin finished with seven catches for a career-high 111 yards and the TD. That performance earned him the honor of being named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Godwin is only the second Bucs receiver to win the award. Mike Evans did it in Week 11 of 2014.
Five of Godwin's seven receptions resulted in first downs. Over the final two weeks of the season, Godwin totaled 209 receiving yards, the third most in the league.
Godwin started in place of DeSean Jackson, who missed the last two games with an ankle injury. Jackson is expected to return in 2018, but expect Godwin to force himself into the lineup as a receiver more than he did as a rookie.
