Rays’ prospect Sale suspended after derogatory Facebook post

Josh Sale, an outfielder in the Tampa Bay Rays farm system who just finished a 50-game suspension for using a performance-enhancing drug, was suspended indefinitely Wednesday for what the team called “conduct detrimental to the organization.”
The latest suspension for the team’s 2010 first-round pick stems from a derogatory post on Facebook.
“Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight. First time,” he wrote on Facebook. “Got kicked out and she got so pissed thought she was gonna cry … you’re a stripper. Be thankful. Hoe.”
His Facebook page was later removed.
Sale was just added to the roster at Class A Charlotte but had not played a game. Three years ago, Sale was the 17th pick overall out of Seattle’s Bishop Blanchet High School.
Last season at low Class A Bowling Green, Sale finished with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs in 74 games while hitting .264 with a .391 on-base percentage before being suspended after reportedly testing positive for amphetamines.
