ST. PETERSBURG The Bank of America Charitable Foundation is donating $500,000 to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. The grant, one of the largest corporate grants USF St. Pete has ever received, will be used to support the new Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Center, which will be unveiled today at 11:30 a.m.

Half of the grant will go toward financial literacy initiatives, such as a finance academy aimed at high school students, budget management programs for college students and workshops for the general public on social security and retirement.

The other half will be put toward personnel and faculty who run classes at the center. USF will hold an unveiling reception for the center in the Kate Tiedemann College of Business lobby at 700 4th St. S.
