PLANT CITY Two Plant City High School students won prizes and crowns for collecting the most donations for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Senior Cole Peterson was crowned prince and freshman Katelyn Yarbrough was crowned princess by Principal Susan Sullivan for collecting the most money in an annual fundraiser, which netted more than $1,000 for the cancer fight.

The prince and princess contest, sponsored by Plant City High’s Interact Girls Club, challenged all students to raise money and awareness for the relay.

The 16 students who participated in the competition carried containers around the school and community collecting money for the charitable event. Finalists in the competition were recognized on the school’s daily Raider TV program.

Cole and Katelyn were presented with crowns, royalty banners, gift cards and other gifts. First runner up for prince was junior Erick Polanco. Finalists for princess included Amber McGuire, first runner up; and Linda Crosson, second runner up, who are both juniors.

All finalists received candy and stuffed bears.

The Interact Girls Club is sponsored by the Plant City Noon Rotary Club. School sponsors are teachers Jobeth Newsome and Jennifer Scott.
