Ron Paul supporters donate to homeless vets
About 30 members of Veterans For Ron Paul, some dripping with sweat, marched more than seven miles from the Paul Fest at the Fair Grounds to a shelter on North Nebraska that cares for homeless vets. The group arrived shortly after 1 p.m. They came bearing $1,000 in cash donations and pledges to help the homeless at the New Beginnings Emergency Shelter, 8535 N. Nebraska Ave. Cory Kenneth Peterson, 39, a retired Air Force captain from St. Paul, Minn., said that in addition to cash, the group and its supporters will donate hundreds of t-shirts as well as a supply of meat to the shelter, which serves 150 daily.
