RNC convention-goers recharge at Huffington Post Oasis

TAMPA - Arianna Huffington, founder of the popular news website that bears her name, fainted a few years ago, fell and broke her cheekbone. That's it, she decided. I'm working myself to exhaustion and this isn't working. I need to restore some balance in my life. So she's introduced her plan to counteract stress at the RNC this week with her "Huffington Post Oasis" – a temporary stop-in spa for volunteers and convention-goers inside Channelside's Aja nightclub. And what better timing, with the crazy hours people subject themselves to at a huge event like this?
"It's surprisingly sinful and delightfully indulgent," says MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show producer Louis Burgdorf. He's made several trips over to the Oasis, which offers free reflexology, group yoga classes, massages, mini-facials, sleep consultations, healthy snacks and makeup refreshes. He even got a deep-tissue back massage from Huffington. He also recommends the "Mint" Romney Body Lotion (May the best scent win!) given out at the pop-up spa. So how does Huffington stay calm and centered during this run-run-run week? "I skipped the parties last night and got some rest," she admitted. Another tip: Leave all the chargers off in your bedroom. Light can be so distracting when you need to sleep. She also does a little multi-tasking by getting reflexology therapy while working on her laptop. Just to prove she's non-partisan, the Oasis heads to Charlotte next week, to provide some pampering to Democrats when they meet for their national convention.
