Isaac forces new schedule for RNC in Tampa
The Republican National Convention's schedule has been rearranged due to Tropical Storm Isaac, mostly to limit Monday to a formality and condense speakers the next three nights. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is scheduled to open the convention at 2 p.m. Monday, and then recess the event 10 minutes later. The convention resumes at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with speakers including Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Priebus, House Speaker John Boehner, Rules Chairman John Sununu roll calls for the president and vice president, former Sen. Rick Santorum, Ann Romney, and Gov. Chris Christie from New Jersey. Speakers on Wednesday include Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Sen. John McCain from Arizona, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Condoleezza Rice, and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan.On Thursday night, the convention will hear from Newt and Callista Gingrich, Connie Mack, Jeb Bush, former Olympians Michael Eruzione, Derek Parra and Kim Rhode, Marco Rubio, and presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
