Pizza costume stolen from Lakeland Papa John's
Detectives in Polk County are looking for a young man who put a new spin on the concept of pizza to go. On the evening of March 3, while several people milled about in a Lakeland Papa John's pizza restaurant, a man about 18 years old put on the store's pizza costume and walked out. The whole scene was captured on a security video, which was released today by the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The costume is a slice of pizza, about 6 feet tall, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies are looking for the man who wore it along with six other people who walked with him into the store, located at 6747 U.S. Highway 98 N., at about 7 p.m. The young man who put on the costume was described as white and wearing a white button-up shirt, dark pants and a dark tie.The group he walked in with included three older white men with dark hair, one of whom had a full beard. There was also a white female with dark hair, a white male with dark hair and a white shirt, and an Asian female with black leggings and a light-colored jacket.
